ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
YQIS is a conference series created by young researchers for young researchers.

Hosted this year by the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) in Barcelona, it invites PhD students and early-career researchers to present their latest work and forge new collaborations.

Covering the full spectrum of quantum information—from foundations, correlations, and thermodynamics to cryptography, communications, algorithms, machine learning, computing, and cutting-edge quantum technologies — YQIS provides a forum to foster scientific exchange among young researchers.

Launched in 2013 through the vision of Alain Aspect and Sébastien Tanzilli, the conference remains dedicated to giving the next generation of scientists a prominent stage. Join us in Barcelona in 2025, the year of Quantum, to exchange ideas, expand your network, and help shape the future of quantum information science.

Previous editions feature YQIS6 hosted by the FRIB/NSCL at Michigan State University in 2021, and YQIS24 – the 7th edition of the conference series – hosted by INRIA in Paris.

REGISTRATION
Registration can be done through this link or by clicking on the button at the bottom of the page.

Participants willing to present a poster will be asked to provide a short abstract of maximum 1300 characters on the application form. For talks, a one-page long abstract (not counting references) in PDF format will be required instead.

Applicants applying to present their work will be prioritized in the selection procedure.

Attendance fee is 150€.

A limited number of fellowships will be offered for master’s students eligible for financial aid. The deadline for presenting the request is the 1st of August. In case you wish to apply for it, you will be requested to provide a brief justification and upload of a short version of your curriculum (1-page max, PDF only).
