Winter School on Ultracold Quantum Many-Body Systems

Feb 01 - Feb 07, 2026

Benasque Science Center, Spain

The goal of this one-week school is to introduce young students and researchers to key themes and latest developments in the field of ultracold quantum many-body systems, as well as to promote the interaction between young and established members of this rapidly-growing community.

The speakers are internationally-recognized researchers in both theory and experiment, aiming to give a comprehensive view of the current state of the art of the field. The School will cover a broad range of themes such as:

– Few- and many-body physics
– Quantum simulation
– Ultracold molecules
– Rydberg atoms in optical tweezers
– Topological quantum matter
– Lattice gauge theories
– Ultracold atoms in optical lattices
– 2D quantum gases
– Strongly correlated fermions

Simon Cornish (Durham University)
Fabian Grusdt (LMU Munich)
Thierry Lahaye (Institut d’Optique)
Hélène Perrin (Université Sorbonne Paris Nord)
Peter Schauss (University of Hamburg)
Nur Ünal (University of Birmingham)
